Our accounting degrees

We offer the following accounting programs at our Woodbury campus:

Bachelor of Science in Accounting (BS). This four-year degree program qualifies graduates to take the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam in Minnesota. GU/MSB offers coursework in financial accounting, auditing, taxation, and management accounting along with advanced business classes to give you the skills to be part of a company’s accounting team.

Accounting & Tax Specialist Associates Degree (AAS). This degree program will prepare you for positions as a tax advisor, tax preparer or for work in the accounting departments of businesses large and small. We prepare graduates of this program to take exams for certifications such as the Accredited Business Accountant/Advisor (ABA), Registered Accounting Practitioner (RAP) and Enrolled Agent (EA).

Associate Degree in Management Accounting (AAS). Upon graduation, you will be prepared for positions such as accounts payable or accounts receivable clerk, payroll specialist, accounting technician and billing specialist. This two-year degree program is frequently the springboard to a bachelors degree in accounting, with students returning to qualify for CPA certification.

Accounting Diploma. Our diploma program prepares students for jobs such as accounts payable or accounts receivable specialists. After entering the workforce, students frequently return to earn an associates or bachelors degree in accounting.

Learning about the accounting field from professionals

Our accounting classes are not dry and theoretical. We take field trips and invite industry professionals into our classrooms. Activities such as these allow our students to benefit from the insights and knowledge of those who have years of experience in the field. Classes have visited local governments, area non-profits and regional businesses to see how accounting professionals function in real-world settings.

Flexibility and convenience – We adjust to you

Each of these accounting degree programs is available through the GU/MSB online program, providing students with maximum flexibility and convenience. Students at our Woodbury location can take all classes online or elect to take day or evening classes on-campus. It’s your choice – we are dedicated to making sure that your program works for you.
