Our health fitness specialist programs
At GU/MSB-Woodbury, we provide training that will help you achieve your personal and professional goals. Our instructors have real-world experience in the field, offering small classes with hands-on, individualized training. The following are the Health fitness programs offered at the Woodbury campus:
Bachelor of Science in Health Fitness. This four-year college degree program offers courses in Sport Psychology, Principles of Child Fitnes, Sales and Marketing for Fitness Programs, and Nutrition for the Health Fitness Specialist. A highlight of our program is Muscle Activation TechniquesTM Jumpstart (MAT), a trademarked specialty course in the Health Fitness bachelor's degee. Globe University/Minnesota School of Business is the only educational institution with access to this unique, cutting-edge material.
Associate in Applied Science in Health Fitness. Students in this two-year program take courses such as Worksite Health Promotion, Introduction to Exercise Science, Methods in Resistance Training, and Exercise Prescription for Special Populations. They also study the science that underlies health and fitness training in classes such as Kinesiology, Human Anatomy and Biomechanics.
Diploma in Health Fitness. Our diploma program consists of 75 college credits. Courses include Introduction to Exercise Science, Methods in Resistance Training, Exercise Prescription for Special Populations, Kinesiology, Human Anatomy and Biomechanics. As with the BS and AAS degree programs, the diploma includes business courses that set our graduates apart. These classes include Business Communications, Introduction to Business and Computer Information Systems.
Each health fitness specialist program is developed in consultation with exercise and fitness professionals who serve on our Health Fitness Advisory Board, and combines the latest scientific information about health and fitness with the business tools you will need to manage a program or organization. Employers tell us that our graduates are well prepared for their responsibilities as personal trainers, community education coaches and in other positions.

Business
Globe University/ Minnesota School of Business (GU/MSB) in Woodbury is one of 13 locations that are also part of the Globe Education Network. Other members include Utah Career College , Institute of Production and Recording (Edina, MN), Minnesota School of Cosmetology, and the Duluth Business University. Globe Education Network provides academic and operational support and manages shared resources that benefit students. Through approved consortium agreements, students are able to earn credit for coursework from member schools.
