Veterinary Technology Programs- Woodbury

At the Woodbury, MN, campus of Globe University/Minnesota School of Business (GU/MSB), our most popular programs are in veterinary technology. We offer bachelor's and associate degree programs that help students turn their love for animals into careers. Call 1-877-303-6060 or contact our Woodbury campus to learn more about training for a career in veterinary technology.

Graduates of our veterinary technology programs

Our programs prepare students for interesting and challenging entry-level positions in:

  • Small animal hospitals
  • Equine practices
  • Animal research labs
  • Mobile vet services
  • Private veterinary practices
  • Pet stores
  • Veterinary pharmaceutical companies

In addition, our graduates can combine their degrees and initial experience in the field to move up to positions in wildlife rehabilitation centers and zoos. What area of veterinary technology appeals to you?

Why choose GU/MSB-Woodbury for your vet tech degree?

When you visit the Woodbury campus, you will see signs of our vet tech program everywhere.  You may find students exercising puppies on the lawn, signs advertising a fundraising event for a local animal shelter or a bake sale to raise money for resuce animals.  When you come to our Woodbury campus to study veterinary technology, you'll be part of a lively and active community. Other reasons to choose our vet tech programs include:

The credentials of instructors. Among our faculty are veterinarians with their own practices and veterinary techs with years of experience. This gives students opportunities to work with knowledgeable practitioners who can answer questions about the most recent techniques and changes in the field.

The opportunity to work with animals. Our Woodbury veterinary technology students learn in our on-campus veterinary suite. This means that vet classes cannot be completed online, as this would eliminate one of the most valuable parts of our college program – the chance to work with live animals in a modern clinic setting. You will gain experience with preparing animals for surgery, drawing blood, placing catheters and monitoring animals during operations.

The source of the program animals. Our dogs, cats and horses are rescue animals. Students prepare them for foster homes or permanent adoption and provide care and maintenance during their recuperation.

Whether the program provides skills employers want. The vet technology Advisory Board at GU/MSB is made up of professionals and employers in the veterinary field. They review our program regularly and advise us about developments in the field that need to be incorporated into our classes. Our students receive the training they need for today’s careers.

Program flexibility. Woodbury veterinary technology programs start every quarter, with day and evening classes available. Students can complete some classes online. Our goal is to make your college schedule work for you.

The college’s placement rate. Our goal with every vet tech student is to prepare him or her for a rewarding career. As a result, our placement rates are high, even though we have a number of students who take classes simply to learn how to care for their own animals.

Admission to our veterinary programs

Our vet tech programs are great for students with solid foundation in high school chemistry, biology and basic math.  Consult an admissions representative for more information about preparation for our veterinary technology and technician programs.
